Journal. Fast.

Time is flying by! For the last two weeks, I have had a clear calendar and I have been spending every moment from 8:30am to 2:45pm painting. I have to admit I have really enjoyed myself. I got hooked into the Conrad Murray trial and have really enjoyed listening to the testimony as I work.

I think it's hard for some people that I speak to, to understand the life of a working artist. Yes, I have a clear calendar...but no, I am not hanging out at Starbucks drinking coffee all day. There's the classes, the business, the projects....discipline. I don't want to fall behind schedule. I guess that is a tip I can offer to anyone who is also looking to make the transition to being a working artist.. schedule. You have to keep on top of things.. if not? It's just like a regular business. I've seen the good and the bad of working artists..boy have I seen the bad... So do yourself a favor..get organized, get discipline and then the sky is the limit.

When I am not in the studio, I am busy putting together my sketchbook and working on the journal. (Shown above are some quick iPhone photos of my journal.) I've got some photography jobs coming up and Chris Cozen in town next week.....good things are coming....great things. Stay tuned!
