GPP Street Team Crusade 36: Art Journal Exercise

Michelle Ward challenges the Street Team to make a couple of journal pages in 60 minutes using materials on hand...and why not snow flakes?

I have hearts on my brain...so I whipped up some heartflakes using scissors and my crop-a-dile.. Of course I tried cramming the folded papers into various punches..no good. I wish someone would  invent cute, industrial strength punches that will handle every non-conventional item I try to jam into them.

After using the snowflakes as spray paint stencils, I painted them and attached them to the page. Less is more. I am a big fan of using a light touch on the spray paint nozzle.

Thanks for stoping by, Crusaders...you can be a Crusader too! Why don't you cut out some snowflakes today too? Here's a you tube tutorial to get you started.

These pages are lovely. I love the pink and putting hearts in the snowflakes AND the nice way the journaling flows across the pages. I too wish they made HEAVY DUTY punches!

Look at THIS! I LOVE these heartflakes! You know it's the season. I really like your colors. I think a bit of WHITE would be a nice touch on the pages I made for the crusade, before writing on them. OR... I will write on them with that cool white pen you sent to me because you're fabulous.
You have a great talent for composition.

hello Julie,

nice to be able to comment...:)
I'm scanning some stuff and meanwhile I'm visiting my favorite blogs and websites. First I thought I clicked twice on Michelles website... but then I saw your page !
Real nice page : colors are great although they are not mostly my colors, I like the combination you did here. The burgundy and the pink go well together, I also like the smudgy feeling on the page.
Nice hearflowers too !

greetings from belgium

PS : I haven't forgotten you... we are just still waiting for the new VISA card...
PS : on top it won't accept my website adress...:( Don't know why...

You are one of the people who inspired me to try Michelle's crusades. I always saw yours from last year and they looked like fun but I didn't think I could do it. This year I jumped right in....so thank you, Julie. You do such fun things. I laughed about the industrial punch! I need one of those, too!!

gah-gah-gorgeous!
love these...they are so *julie*
thanks for sharing with the team my friend.
and thanks for turning on comments for
this post so the crusaders can leave their
compliments and enthusiasm for your
work. i, too, wish there were cool industrial
strength punches....like that could cut through
a bazillion layers of paper, or metal even!

I love that the snowflakes look Julie-fied somehow ! So cool. Crop-a-dile was a good idea for those added little holes !
Gorgeous job, Crusader extraordinaire !

Love the flakes-both the snow and the heart. Yes, I agree the world needs an industrial strength 'punch' . . . hey! Maybe you could design one. (in your spare time teehee) but seriously I would buy it. I am always trying to 'punch' stuff that is too thick, etc. Anyway I hope your weather will improve soon.

Thanks for your kind comment on my blog. I love your pages. I enjoyed your video messages as well, it is so interesting to watch you working on your pages.
I must try spray paint one day, but I am always afraid it will give such a mess.

You used your crop-a-dile? Why didn't I think of that? (I know why, cos I tidy it away all the time...) I love what you have done, the heart snowflakes are gorgeous. And the colors are so soft, your approach with praying is lovely.

Of the responses to this crusade, this is my favorite yet! I wasn't sure I was going to play this month, but I may have to now.

Great job on the snowflake challenge. Oh how I wished for any die cut machine. Instead I had to google how to make a paper snowflake :)
