Do you remember your first listen?

When was the first time you heard yourself? Truly?

I'm off the air for a busy weekend.. I hope you will tune back in on Monday for a new weekly round up video, "Inside the Artist's Journal".

See you then.

PS- floored

For a long time I was deaf to hear myself. My mind is always making a noise about life and I don't seem to realize the silent voice inside of me: the passive observer of all things. By going beyond my mind I was able to experience my true self. :-)

I do remember the first time. And strange you should ask, because it has been awhile but these past two weeks I have realized my voice is peeping out again. It's been a joy. As for the "floored" - EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! I just discovered this magazine. Congratulations! You are officially on the radar!

I hear myself very very early in the morning when NO one is up but me- making studio the most relaxing and creative! Congrats on the cover!

SO excited for you...that is HUGE! i need to look for more times when no one is up but me...getting the balance between getting enough sleep and "me" time...i do hear myself more these days nonetheless...i think through living my passions? one of these days i would love to create an art journal (with your assistance of course) to process these things in a deeper and more intuitively creative way although photography and blogging are rewarding in the meantime...thanks again for getting me back in to it!

That hasn't happened to me...I sometimes get it in tiny bits and pieces.

By the way--Cover C is OBVIOUSLY the choice :) I seriously would have picked it even if I didn't know it was yours, Julie :)

I don't think I heard my voice until I started doing a couple of radio shows about 13 years ago. I taped every show I did, and still go back and listen to them even now. See, as a Brit who lived in Australia for 17 years, then moved to the US, I marvel at my changing accent. It intrigues me.

My first voice? 1968 - women's rights movement. 40+ years later & still much to say and listen to.

I remember when there were few magazines that celebrated the accomplishments of women aside from movies stars. I chose cover C. Julie's name in red.

Way to go! You and your art are such cover model material! Hmmm, I've only recently begun to really hear and see myself for what's really there and what the possibilities are.

You rock my friend! Rock on, and on!

Mmmwhaaaa,

Carmen

Congratulations! I personally prefer Cover B and just voted for it. My voice has been growing a little stronger and louder year by year. I'm finally comfortable in my own skin (wish it was a size or two smaller) and have learned to listen to and trust myself. I've discovered what interests me and no longer feel like a sheep, just going along...
