Getting Arboreal: A Nature Collection, Part II

We met last August 19th... She's named after the woman of whom she is dedicated to, "Phyllis".

I know she was happy to see me return yesterday..to photograph her in the afternoon light.

While the palm trees in San Diego hold their composure year round, I was happy to see that Phyllis held a small surprise for me. A few redish leaves..

..and her seeds...ready for the winter wind to take them away..

I know she is happy here...and I can't wait to see her again in April..

Getting Arboreal is a bloglandia collaboration. Be sure to visit all of the participating artists on my left sidebar. Blogs marked with a single asterisk have been updated to reflect their fall foliage.

Be sure to take a visit!

I saw this kind of tree in Ohio when I was there a couple of weeks ago. There were three of them in a row, on a side street. The leaves were the most beautiful colors, every fall color you could think of and then those spikey little seed pods hanging from the tree. It doesn't grow in Wisconsin. I have no idea what kind of tree it is. Ok, it's a Phyllis tree but.........what kind? lololsnort I asked all the store owners on the street and although every one though they were beautiful fall tree, nobody knew what they were. Odd :)bea

I love this sequence of photographs, Julie... and the way you added your personal touches to them with the white-line borders... I am going back to look again! Roxanne

you are so wonderful at capturing so much in simple shots and artistically placed details/border/close-ups...love how your second photo shoot captures the same details and shows the differences...i obsessed over that and never did get the same shots...cool that you had a season change in the leaves, too! i finally posted my update...looking forward to checking out all the other bloggers posts later this evening...

Phyllis is a lovely little tree! That's so cool that you have a story wrapped around her.

My poor tree is naked now...http://doboldthings.blogspot.com/2009/11/getting-arboreal-tree-photo-challenge.html

Thanks for the reminder to go get another photo!

I'm late.... sorry...... but the tree still has a leaf or two to show. What a difference in only three months. This is fun! I'll go and look at other entries now. xo
